I believe that the most valuable aspect of therapy is the relationship between the client and the clinician. This relationship is collaborative, where both the client and I work together to improve his/her mental, emotional, and social life. I always allow the client’s specific needs and goals to determine the therapeutic approach, the frequency of visits, and the duration of therapy.
However, I know that therapy can be an expensive investment. I refer to it as an investment because you will be gaining insight into your problems, developing coping skills and resources, and changing yourself so that participating in life’s daily activities generally becomes a more positive experience.
All too often managed care companies predetermine the necessity of therapy, the types of therapy for which you are eligible, and the amount of therapy you can receive. They do not take into consideration your personal goals or needs. For these reasons, I do not participate in health insurance plans.
However, my services as an out-of-network clinician qualify for reimbursement through most insurance plans. If you would like to use these benefits, I can provide you with the appropriate paperwork to submit to your insurance for a claim. The amount of reimbursement you will receive will be determined by the insurance provider. I recommend that you contact your insurance company to find out the amount and duration of your reimbursement benefits.
Payment is expected at the time of each appointment. For your convenience, I accept most major credit cards. Also, please note that a full session fee is charged for missed appointments or cancellations with less than a 24-hour notice unless it is due to illness or an emergency.
